FACTIONS

aria t'loak.

i’m the boss, ceo, queen if you’re feeling dramatic.

The de facto ruler of Omega, Aria doesn't mess around. Also known as the "Pirate Queen" of the station, she is fiercely possessive of the station and will do anything to maintain her dominance. Prior to being in completely control of Omega, when she first arrived on the station she worked as an exotic dancer in the Afterlife club. It was all just a cover, however, and once she killed the owner, she took over ownership of the place. She continued from there, forming alliances until she could ultimately overthrow the "ruler" of Omega and claim it for herself. The krogan that she forced out of power was spared -- as an example of her power to others.

Needless to say, she is very authoritative in her rule of the station; barely anything that happens on Omega passes without her notice, which makes mercenary groups -- and anyone, really -- think twice about crossing her. It doesn't matter who she deals with, she always makes sure she has the upper hand in the deal, and given that she has centuries of experience in that area? She always, always comes out on top. You can't lie to her, you can't cheat her, and you'd better not piss her off. There's a reason the only rule on Omega is don't fuck with Aria.

talon.

fight for omega.

A mercenary group based on Omega, one of which that was so obscure that before the plague of 2185, they were passed over. Unlike the other mercenary groups, they're highly organized. During the Cerberus occupation of Omega, they maintained the resistance against the intrusion until Commander Shepard aided Aria in retaking the station. After its liberation, the Talons stayed on as Omega's permanent security force - which means they're as good as you're going to get as far as protection goes, but you must be willing to pay for it. They are a turian-based group, and also have a small red sand smuggling operation. (Illegal substances, anyone?)

eclipse.

stealth and intelligence.

An asari, salarian and human-based mercenary group that favors stealth and "intelligent" ways of conducting things. They are heavily tech-and-biotic-based, and also happen to control 20% of smuggling operations on Omega. Basically, if you have illicit substances that you want to get from point A to point B? This is your group. (It's also rumored that prospective members have to commit a murder before they're given their uniform. They don't play.)

blue suns.

private security.

Founded by Zaeed Massani and Vido Santiago, the Blue Suns is the oldest mercenary group to date. Operating under the guise of being a "private security" group, they conduct their business both discreetly and with ruthless efficiency. They'll do what you want, but only for the right price. All Blue Suns operatives have a tattoo of their symbol on their body, removed only for high-risk jobs. Their operatives consist mostly of humans, turians, and dirty, dirty batarians, along with a number of mechs.

blood pack.

minimal oversight. maximum violence.

This is where the muscle of Omega comes in. Consisting solely of vorcha and krogan, this band of mercs don't do much outside of bribing. If you want security, you'll need to go elsewhere -- because more likely than not, any member of the Blood Pack will simply laugh at you and walk away. Krogan often gather up groups of vorcha and quite literally beat them into soldiers as their training -- and as a result, they're more efficient, more ruthless, more resilient than they otherwise would be.
